Rufus Du Sol – Live from Joshua Tree – 2020 – Album + Video
Genre: Electronic, EDM, Alternative Dance
Imagine you‘ re hiking in the growing evening twilight through the ruggedly bizarre and utterly isolated lonely desert scenery of California‘ s Joshua Tree National Park. Suddenly you hear music with heavy electronic beats and see dozens of light columns flashing in time from a distance. You sneak closer to the action and then you see three guys dressed in black on a small hill, turning various electronic music devices and beating on real and electronic drums.
Mesmerized, you pause for a while, immersed in the fascinatingly unreal scenario, and ask yourself in amazement, „Okay guys, and where did you hide your spaceship?“

The spaced-out Australians Tyrone Lindqvist, James Hunt and Jon George, also known as Rufus Du Sol, deliver here a masterpiece of audiovisual art and play an excellent concert with the best songs from their three albums Solace, Bloom and Atlas – and all this with no audience at all.
Without any doubt Rufus Du Sol have reached the peak of their career with this live set, because unlike their three studio albums, which always sounded a bit too cold and contrived to my ears, everything sounds perfect on „Live from Joshua Tree“. The fine electronic poppy arrangements, all of them suitable for the dancefloor, are captivating, enormously multi-layered and fascinating – somehow out of this world.
Live from Joshua Tree is one of the most outstanding productions of this otherwise disastrous year of 2020.
Sound quality:
Image quality:
The picture quality in 4K is also superb, scoring with rich, natural colors, good sharpness and clean contours. There are also plenty of evening backlight shots in the first part of the set, which come across impressively well.
