Lane 8: Brightest Lights Remixed – 2020 – This Never Happenend

Genre: Electronica, Deep House, Progressive House.

Intro

Lane 8 aka Daniel Goldstein … Brightest Lights Remixed …and the different remixes now as an album and as an add-on to the „normal“ album „Brightest Lights“ from January 10, 2020. But it’s much more than just an add-on, but I have to admit that it took me a while to get into the Lane 8 world, because the vocals were somehow too sweet and sugary for me in the beginning, and I also didn’t really get along with the typical wide-screen sound of Lane 8.

Until Nora, yes, yes, NoraEn Pure with her Purified Radio shows, fed me with Lane 8 until I said, „Okay, can I have another spoonful please, the Lane 8 stuff is extremely tasty,“ and that’s the time when it was really lost in this sound.

And so one thing led to another, this time with a video from YouTube titled „Sunrise Set – Grand Lake, CO“, where he drifts with his electronic gear on a shaky boat with breathtaking landscape shots as well as even extremely awesome tracks.

From that point on, it was absolutely obvious that I would probably consider his stuff to be pretty awesome, and the album I’m talking about definitely was a must-have. Ideally I would have shouted to Nora „Eh Nora, you were right, this stuff is REALLY cool“, but dream characters like Nora don’t let themselves get carried away with answers too often.

The deep house sound (progressive house, as some people think[egal halt]) as Daniel is playing it, suits me very well with his fantastic widescreen sound, the beautiful vocals of POLIÇA (yes, I like it now) and the energetic support of Artic Lake. Also, Ben Böhmer was mixing around, and I’m addicted to Ben Böhmer’s stuff anyway. Certainly, some slightly melancholic phrases can be found on this remix album, but that fits quite well into this very strange time with the virus that is very annoying to all of us on this planet.

But Lane 8 pushes us forward again and again with happy tracks, which sometimes can slide away into slight jazzy worlds and again and agian he is pulling us with driving beats towards our virtual living room-, or even kitchen-lockdown-dancefloor. And if any of you have always been searching for the lowest low frequencies on the planet, this album might be the end of your search.

Video „Sunrise Set – Grand Lake, Colorado“

With „Sunrise Set – Grand Lake, CO“ Lane 8 delivers an excellent DJ set and plays through the DeepHouse/ House-Scene with tracks by Sultan + Shepard, Yotto, Einmusik, Anderholm plus a lot of Lane 8. And of course he also specifically introduces the acts of his own label „This Never Happened“ such as Massane, Avoue or even Che-Young.

The video is presented in 4K and has an excellent picture quality, also the sound (WEPM / OPUS 160K) comes along really well.
